Gays for Patsy welcomes dancers of all genders, sexual orientations, races, ethnicities, economic backgrounds (ask about our sliding scale options), and abilities. As long as you want to dance with us, we want to dance with you!
Some GFP venues are alcohol-free, and others are not. Please be advised that drinking may be allowed at such events as Dirty Water Saloon and others.
We take your safety and comfort very seriously. If anyone is behaving inappropriately, or making you feel uncomfortable, please see Bob or Kendra*, or anyone on the GFP or DWS leadership team. You may also feel free to approach the DJ with any concerns. They may be able to assist you or can point you to someone who can.
Accessibility and venue info:
Queer Country Social is held on the first floor of a church with a gender-neutral single stall bathroom on the same level. There is a ramp leading up to the side door, which is the one we use.
When you enter, you will be greeted by a volunteer who will also accept any admission you’d like to pay. There is a large space for dancing with some chairs around it. This space opens to a large space for socializing, which contains food and snacks, as well as more chairs. Bottled water is available in the kitchen for a suggested $1 donation.
Dirty Water Saloon is held inside the Milky Way Lounge. It is also on the first floor with ramp access. Bathrooms are on the same level, out the door in the hallway. Bathrooms in this space are designated as a women’s room and a men’s room and are multi-stall. Depending on timing, other gender neutral bathrooms may or may not be available in other parts of the building (such as the one by Ula café).
When you enter, you will walk into the Bella Luna restaurant and likely be greeted by restaurant staff. You can find us in the back “satellite” room. Usually one of our volunteers is sitting at a table near the entrance to this room. They will greet you and accept any admission fees you wish to pay. There is a small floor for dancing with a very small sitting area attached. Usually there is free water available in this room. Food and other beverages may be purchased from the bar in the restaurant space.
