I’ve been loving the past few days of beautiful foliage and weather. Fall for many is a time to start new things (much like new year’s). If you’ve not come to a dance in a while, this week will be a great time to do so.
Dance in a nut shell:
Join us Saturday, October 18 as we dance the night away two stepping, west (and east) coast swing, waltz, line dancing, and more to contemporary country, R&B, and pop music.
Lessons: 6:30-8 pm
- 6:30-7 pm: basic two step
- 7-7:30 pm: beyond the basics with Art Sullivan
- 7:30-8 pm: line dance lesson
We’ve been cooking up some great events this year and helping out with many fundraisers and fun groups. Thanks to Julie and Robin for helping fundraise last spring, we raised well over $500 for various causes. Art recently taught intro line dancing at Texy Mexy Mama’s a fundraiser put on by the Imperial Court of Massachusetts (I’ll see if I can get the stats on how much they were able to raise). A few of us are going to Margo’s “Cat”stravaganza Halloween fundraiser up in Ogunquit on Friday, October 31 as a fundraiser and silent auction for her holistic cat shelter, Ralphies Retreat (see “upcoming” below)
The ReneGaydes is growing, we’ve got a bunch of new people joining and room for more we are planning two numbers: a fun latin based/retro pop music number being choreographed by Beth and Elvira as well as finally doing the much talked about “Convoy” number choreographed by Bucky and Jim in conjunction with the Big Apple Ranch’s Prairie Dogs. Contact Beth if you’re interested in doing it.

Greg Klyma and his Americana Monday’s band will play two step, west and east coast, waltz, even a polka or two while a DJ will play line dances in between. Greg is a great musician and we are really looking forward to having him play. Bring extra money to tip the band and your dancing shoes ’cause he’s a hoot! A number of us have been going to his Live music night on Mondays in Somerville (at PA’s Lounge). We’re addicted.
